There is a distinction between external happiness and internal peace. External happiness usually occurs when our external circumstances are in alignment with what we want or our preferences. However, peace can occur regardless of whether our external circumstances are in alignment with what we want or our preferences. For example, we may be unhappy at our job, weight, or relationship status, but still capable of experiencing peace because peace comes from an inner knowing.
How do you cultivate a peace regardless of your external circumstances? This takes a trust or inner knowingness that we are in alignment with some greater purpose or Higher power in life. It can be helpful to look at the BIG PICTURE and develop a greater understanding of how an experience may be serving our greater purpose. For example, you may ask yourself the following questions.Â
Is this experience or circumstance:
1) Helping me develop a strength that wouldn’t be possible to develop in the midst of pleasant circumstances?
2) Helping me realize that I am stronger than I thought I was?
3) Helping me develop a greater appreciation for the value of my own lifeÂ
4) Helping me develop a greater appreciation for the big and little things in life
5) Helping me realize I can count on others during tough times?
6) Deeping my faith, endurance, and persistence?
       7) Enhancing my spiritual connection?
If you answered yes to any of the above questions, then you may able to develop peace in the middle of any experience, even if the experience is not pleasant or if it is creating temporary unhappiness in life.
If you answered no to all of the questions, then it is still possible to develop a peace that passes understanding regardless of our circumstances. The essence of having a peace that passes understanding is that we do not understand why we are experiencing our current circumstances; however deep inside we know that what we are going through is in alignment with some greater purpose or Higher Power. This can take faith or trust and letting go of fear. For example, sometimes we can simply trust that even if we do not understand why or how we are going through something, that it is serving a purpose greater than our self. We may have an inclination to take impractical yet helpful actions like buying biodegradable pre roll tubes, hiring a moving company los angeles and moving, or utilizing SEO Services Toronto. Â Sometimes this purpose defies logic or a practical understanding. Instead, it may require us to connect more with our heart, feel it in our body or gut, trust our intuition, or simply an inner knowing that gently lets us know that all is well, even if we don’t understand why we are going through what we are going through.
