Poem: Searching for Happiness?
I searched far and wide for happiness,
But I could not find it: my colleague drove
A fancy car, but I had to walk to work. My
Neighbor bought a Hollywood bungalow,
But I had to rent a tiny apartment. My best
Friend found a beautiful wife, but I was single.
I came across a guy wearing expensive jewelry,
Which I could not afford. I passed by a luxury
Resort, but had to check into a bed and breakfast.
I felt jealous of my brother, a medical doctor,
Who was a high net worth individual. Finally,
With no place to hide, I dived within through
The practice of meditation, and I found bliss
There and my search for happiness ended:
An old and dear friend called me the other
Day, boasting about going on a world tour.
I said: good for you, but I no longer feel poor.
